THE STORY

First Rwanda Brethren Conference since 1962 was hosted by Inkuru Nziza Churches in December 2022. With 200 church leaders in attendance, it provided our brothers and sisters with a terrific opportunity to meet and support one another as they shared their experiences and a common purpose of sharing and advancing God’s Kingdom. We praise God for the great work that IBCM Network has done in connecting people all over the world, facilitating mission, strengthening churches, and strengthening leaders. Since the network began visiting Rwanda in 2022, In the brethren churches we have experienced significant changes in a number of areas, including access to teaching resources, new international friends, the chance to organize leaders, youth conferences, women’s seminars, and support for attending international conferences, of which 24 were able to attend IBCM8.

Several of our indigenous church leaders were unable to attend the 2022 Conference (RBC1) owing to a lack of funding, however this conference will address the issues that were identified following the attendance evaluation. This gathering was seen as a heavenly chance for leaders to get together, learn from one another, and apply the lessons we preached about applying the Bible to one’s own lives and improving the work of God.  We therefore hope and desire that this RBC II will take place as our second conference. A work plan will be created and presented to ensure that attendees take the resolutions and recommendations back to their local churches to put them into practice after the conference.

Gathering of 200 church and youth leaders from four strategic regions in Rwanda where Inkurunziza operates, with the goal of empowering and encouraging through the sharing of God’s word and guidance on how a brethren assembly can better fulfill God’s mission in the present and future generations. As a result, this is an excellent opportunity for church leaders to meet and encourage one another while sharing their challenges and experiences, as well as establishing the biblical foundation and strategies required to make the work of brethren assemblies in Rwanda more effective with a fresh vision and the advancement of God’s kingdom.

  • Encourage saints and church leaders to consider becoming missionary sending churches.
  • Promoting unity and conformity in doctrine and ministry.
  • To break through the inte-generation gap between the elders and young generation in order for both to put their effort together for the sake of building God’s Kingdom.
  • Teaching God’s word and prayer for edifying.
  • Contribute to the church’s growth in both size and spiritual by enabling it to fulfill its goal of bringing the gospel to all people (Mark 16:15).
  • Provide guidance on how the brethren assembly can better serve God’s mission in the present and future.

The Participants

In order to jointly accomplish the mentioned purpose and aims, this initiative will assist the EIR church elders, youth leaders, and EIR project workers.

Serving young people cannot only prepare them to become future leaders, but also allow them to contribute to the church.[1]  This is seen many times in the Bible, as God often used young people to do great things. For example, God used Timothy to pastor and lead the Ephesian church when he was a teenager. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and purity.” In addition, there is much to be learned from the faith of a child. Matthew 18:2-4 says, “He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’” Because of God’s heart for young people, it is important to recognize their value in today’s church and community.

The Inkuru Nziza church Leadership has a strong trust in the young generation and their potential and passion it is something that the church cannot take for granted, it is, therefore, our desire to help our young people to be part of this conference  so that we can empower them with a fresh vision and leadership strategies of how they can serve God better as they reach out their generation and  breakthrough intergeneration gap between Elders and young people  and reaching the community with the GOSPEL and also be involved in church leadership as they use their talent and skills for church development.
